How to Create Backup file using NTBackup.exe?
Backup is a process to maintain our important and confidential data for future requirement. Various techniques are available for creating a backup. NTBackup.exe is mostly used in creating backed up data for future use.
Now we discuss how to create backup file using NTBackup.exe—
Now Click the START >> RUN and type ntbackup.exe the following screen display…

When you press OK button, then display the following dialog.

This Screen is Welcome Screen for Creating Backup. Now press the NEXT Button to create the backup file.

In this screen show the two options—
- Back up files and settings
- Restore files and settings
1). Back up Files and settings: - This option is used to create a new back up file from hard disk, floppy disk, pen drive or other storage media.
2). Restore files and settings: - This option is used to restore already backed up files.
Now you check the Back up files and settings radio button and click the NEXT Button.
Note: - By default Back up files and settings option is selected
When you click the NEXT Button the following screen display.

In this screen show’s the following options—
- My document and settings
- Everyone’s documents and settings
- All information on this computer
- Let me choose what to back up
1). My document and settings: - This option is used to create Backup of My Document folder including all the Favorites, Desktop information and Cookies.
2). Everyone’s documents and settings: - This option is used to create Backup of My document folder including every user’s my documents folder, all the favorites, desktop and cookies.
3). All information on this computer: - This option is used to create Backup of all data and files stored in hard disk and create a system recovery disk that can be used to restore windows in case of major failure. By using this option we create whole hard disk backup for future requirement.
4). Let me choose what to back up: - In this option we create manually backup of our requirement.
Now you check the Let me choose what to back up radio button and click the NEXT Button.
Note: - By default My document and settings option is selected.

Here are show you the two boxes Left box and Right box; now Double click an item on the left box to see all its contents on the right box. Here we select the check box next to any drive, folder or file that you want to back up.
When click the NEXT Button show you the following screen—

Now we choose the appropriate location to save the back up file. Here if you want to change the backup file name simple rename the Backup.
The Default Backup file name is Backup provided by the NTBackup.exe software.
Now click the NEXT Button:

This screen displays all the required information about your Backup.

Clearly show you the Backup is in progress, when the backup process is completed then display the final dialog to show the backup is complete.
